Crystal Singing Bowl

Crystal Singing Bowls - Finest pure quartz (99.992%) The bowls are made from the same silicon that is used in computers. Like computer chips, the bowls are programmed - programmed for the highest healing. Our bodies, on the cellular level are composed of silica and a pure tone causes our bodies to vibrate in resonance. Sound can produce changes thus bringing our bodies into harmony. Crystal bowls are accompanied by a wooden stick that is covered at the end with suade. The stick is moved around the crystal bowl in a circular fashion to produce different tones. The suade end touches the bowl. It takes practice to learn how to hold the stick and move it to get the correct resonance. Crystal bowls usually rest on a rubber "O Ring" base. As you move the stick around the perimeter of the bowl it creates a harmonic tone that becomes stronger as you go around each time. The bowl quickly appears to be singing.

Tingshaws - Cymbals

Tingshaws - Cymbals: Made from metal, Tibetan Buddhist prepare for meditation by using these Tingshaws. Used before and after meditation to focus the mind, to cleanse and restore your energy and your environment. Two cymbals are joined together by a leather strap or chain. The cymbals are struck together producing a clear and high pitched tone. Typical sizes range from 2.5" - 4" diameter. Tingsha are very thick and produce a unique long ringing tone. Tingsha are unique in form and function and distinctly different from Indian, Nepali, Chinese, Turkish or other cymbals. Today, tingsha are used along with singing bowls and other instruments in meditation, music and sound healing. Artists such as Karma Moffett and Joseph Feinstein use multiple pairs of antique tingsha together to create a sonic tapestry effect. Traditionally, however, tingsha are used as part of specific Tibetan rituals, such as offerings to "hungry ghosts." While they are commonly found today in musical recordings and yoga classes, their real function is as a religious ritual tool.

Tibetan Incense

Tibetan Incense: Choose from a wide variety of incense. Promotes a feeling of well-being, enhances meditation and a sense of oneness. Tibetan Incense is made from a blend of different herbs, spices, plants and minerals from centuries old recipes. Since the annexation of Tibet, the craft of making incense established by the monks has been perpetuated by Tibetan monks and refugees who settled in Nepal and India. Tibetan incense refers to a common style of incense found in Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan. These incenses have a characteristic "earthy" scent to them. Ingredients vary from the familiar such as cinnamon, clove, and juniper, to the unfamiliar such as kusum flower, ashvagandha, or sahi jeera. Many Tibetan incenses are thought to have medicinal properties. Their recipes come from ancient Vedic texts that are based on even older Ayurvedic medical texts. The recipes have remained unchanged for centuries. We also stock the ever popular Nag Champa. Champas are a sub-group of durbars. They contain a natural ingredient indigenous to India called "halmaddi". Halmaddi is a grey semi-liquid resin taken from the Ailanthus Malabarica tree. It smells like the flowers of the plumeria tree. Plumeria flowers are known as champa flowers in India, hence the name of the incense group. Halmaddi is hygroscopic which means it absorbs moisture from the air. This can cause champa incenses to have a wet feeling to them. Nag Champa is probably the most famous incense of the champa group.

Metal Singing Bowls

Tibetan Singing Bowls: Everything in the Universe is made of energy and vibrations. Sound is vibration and has been used for thousands of years for healing, cleansing and space clearing. The powerful vibrations of the bowls sing to our inner consciousness - bringing peace and tranquility. We also stock Japanese bowls, with etching. Singing bowls (also known as 'Himalayan bowls' or 'rin gongs' in Japan) are a type of bell, specifically classified as a standing bell. Rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, standing bells sit with the bottom surface resting. The sides and rim of singing bowls vibrate to produce sound. Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Buddhist meditation practice. Today they are used worldwide for meditation, relaxation, healthcare, personal well-being and religious practice.

Tibetan Artifacts: There are two kinds of prayer flags: horizontal ones, called lung ta (meaning "wind horse") in Tibetan, and the vertical Darchor. Lung Ta (horizontal) prayer flags are of square or rectangular shape and are connected along their top edges to a long string or thread. They are commonly hung on a diagonal line from high to low between two objects (e.g., a rock and the top of a pole) in high places such as the tops of temples, monasteries, stupas or mountain passes. Darchor (vertical) prayer flags are usually large single rectangles attached to poles along their vertical edge. Darchor are commonly planted in the ground, mountains, cairns or on rooftops and are iconographically and symbolically related to the Dhvaja. Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown upward as offerings to their deities and will bring benefits (such as happiness and good health) to all who hang them, as well as their families, loved ones, neighbors, and all people throughout the world including even enemies. By hanging flags in high places the "Wind Horse" will carry the blessings depicted on the flags to all beings. As wind passes over the surface of the flags which are sensitive to the slightest movement of the wind, the air is purified and sanctified by the Mantras. The prayers of a flag become a permanent part of the universe as the images fade from exposure to the elements. Just as life moves on and is replaced by new life, Tibetans renew their hopes for the world by continually mounting new flags alongside the old. This act symbolizes a welcoming of life changes and an acknowledgment that all beings are part of a greater ongoing cycle.

Crystals: Certain crystals can act as resonators and transducers of electromagnetic energies, helping us to bring ourselves into balance of mind, body and spirit. (A crystal is not only a quartz crystal, but any stone which has the characteristics described below.) Without going into an obscure explanation which few of us would understand, a mineral is crystalline if the atoms or ions that compose it are arranged in a geometrically precise pattern of atoms which are held together by shared electrons. If you didn't understand that don't worry about it. The important thing to understand that this orderly pattern also ensures that the energy emitted by a crystal is equally orderly and consistent. A crystal's vibration and energy pattern is steady, which is one of the reasons that crystals can help to steady the often-erratic energy patterns of humans.
