ABOUT ME
Who Am I?
My name is Helen Worthington, and I started painting around 3 years ago. Being an Angel artist had never been my chosen career in life, but I now think it's fair to say that it has chosen me! I have always been interested in spiritual matters, and trained with my local Spiritualist Church as a medium. Their principles appealed to me and once properly trained, under excellent teaching supervision, I developed quickly as a 'platform' medium, and also as a 'channel' for spirit work.
How Did It Start?
Happily ironing one afternoon (yes, I am one of the few who actually enjoy ironing!), 1 found myself being 'pushed' by spirit to sit and draw. Knowing that my drawing skills ranged from limited to non-existent, I resisted until the push become to strong to ignore- Reluctantly, I sat down with paper and pencils, and within around half an hour had drawn a female figure in a flowing green dress. No-one was more surprised than me but I knew from my Spiritualist experiences that the influences and skill had definitely not come from myself, but from a 'higher' source. Before long, 1 had started using watercolours and had painted many small images of angels and spiritual beings, which I then turned into greetings cards- After much persuasion from close friends, I decided to take a small stall at a local Mind, Body and Spirit Fair, and much to my surprise and delight, my cards and pictures were selling! I developed die painting to encompass work on canvases and then onto various other media, including fabric and glass. The rest, as they say, is history !
